SINESTETICA

Edit Napoli, 2024

Imagine a table where every detail tells a story, where the food becomes poetry and the preservation an art. From a conscious and attentive vision of the new habits, comes the collection Sinestetica, which, by linking synesthesia and aesthetics, tries to transform the everyday into an experience extraordinary.

These refrigerator vases made of ceramic, with finishes and fittings handcrafted, thus unpredictable and always different, are not are simply containers: they are expressions of beauty that celebrate food as an experience multisensory.

The five pieces in the collection Sinestetica are designed to elevate the moment of the meal to a ritual of the table. Sinestetica is a collection in which form and design come together, inviting to rediscover the magic of food, making every moment a encounter between the senses.

1. Taste

This is the box dedicated to taste, a tribute to the flavor of what it holds. We have dedicated this series of 5 objects to the 5 human senses: taste, hearing, touch, sight, and smell. Each object, in addition to fulfilling its function, is linked to an experience shared with the user. The taste box, besides serving as a plate or centerpiece, is designed to enhance the tasting experience of the foods it contains. It is ideal for foods that require exposure to air and light for preservation and that benefit from being well distributed, such as tomatoes, bananas, bread, and aromatic herbs.

2. Hearing

This is the box dedicated to hearing, shake it and let the sound of flavor accompany you. This vessel is designed for hearing, with a shape that keeps food cool and in semi-darkness. When shaken, it produces a sound that reflects the nature of the contents: more intense and hard if filled with walnuts or hazelnuts, softer, lighter, and more satisfying if filled with garlic or dried fruit. This ceramic vase, with its structure that allows air to circulate while keeping the interior semi-dark, preserves the freshness and crunchiness of garlic, nuts, hazelnuts, and dried fruit, avoiding the humidity and cold of the fridge that could alter their flavor and texture.

3. Touch

This is the box dedicated to touch:immerse your hand and discover the goodness that awaits you. The vase dedicated to touch allows us to perceive external stimuli through the surface of the human body, a sensory journey that reconnects us with ancestral gestures, when hands were the primary tools for discovering and appreciating food. Its shape makes it ideal for storing foods like potatoes, onions, chestnuts, dried fruit, or legumes, keeping them in the dark and away from light that could compromise their freshness. The moderate opening invites you to immerse your hand and feel what lies inside, rediscovering the pleasure of sensing every texture with your fingers—the rough surface of a potato or the smooth shell of a walnut. This box is not just a container, but an experience that engages the senses and evokes the simplicity and authenticity of bygone times, when food was discovered and selected by touch, with care and attention.

4. Sight

“This is the vase dedicated to sight, an explosion of colors that celebrates the beauty of the foods it holds.” The vase dedicated to the sense of sight is a visual celebration, transforming food into a true work of art. With its elegant, cake stand-like shape, this vase showcases the vibrant colors of fresh fruit, ripe tomatoes, bright peppers, golden citrus, and grapes. It is a tribute to the natural beauty of food, enhanced and presented as if in a shop window, stimulating the eyes and making the desire to savor what’s on display irresistible. Each glance reminds us that the eye craves beauty too, transforming the kitchen into a lively, vibrant, and energy-filled space where the colors of fresh foods tell stories of taste and nature.

5. Smell

“This is the box dedicated to smell, come closer and breathe in the pure essence that envelops you, a vessel for a unique sensory experience.” The box dedicated to smell is a refined sensory tool designed to transform every use into an immersive olfactory experience. With its high neck and a base wider than its opening, this vase channels and amplifies the natural aromas of the foods it holds, such as spices, aromatic herbs, dried fruit, or oranges and lemons, allowing them to slowly diffuse into the environment. Each time you bring it closer, your nose will perceive an intense and pure fragrance that enriches your kitchen or space, as if you had a natural perfumer, evoking the freshness of a garden or the warmth of a traditional kitchen. It’s like having a small corner of nature inside your home, where natural scents take center stage, enhancing the atmosphere with a touch of elegance and well-being.
